I'm running late for Christmas - a nasty fall and a badly sprained back has seen to that and meant that everything is running behind right now. Er . . .no, not really - I really mean that everything is crawling behind s-l-o-w-ly and I'm buried under lists of Things To Do, parcels to wrap, presents to post . . .
Normally I run a sort of Advent Calendar countdown on my blog but that's not going to be possible this year - so I'm doing a sort of condensed 12 Days of Christmas version - crammed into 6 days! With 2 gifts each day.
And as today is the 12 th December, you'll know that the 12th is the day I post my regular blog over on Tote Bags N Blogs - so that's where I'm posting the news about the start of this (mini!) celebration.
So why don't you join me over on Tote Bags N Blogs today - and then from tomorrow on this blog here or on my Facebook author page and you might be able to win yourself an extra little Christmas gift - or maybe one for a friend or family member who could do with something to brighten their day at the moment . (I love sending giveaway books that are a surprise and come with love and thoughts
from one of my readers.)
Charlie the Maine Coon is busy investigating his own purrsonal Advent Calendar so that he can join in this mini-celebration and help me give away some Christmas cheer to readers.
So why not join in and give him something to do??

Hello, Kate!
I am so so sorry to read about your back, etc. It's never easy to "take this lying down" at ANY time of year, but December is, I'm guessing, a tad more difficult to weather. I wish you all the best as your health continues to improve.
My husband collided with another bicyclist when each were going around a large column (and didn't see each other until the last moment) back in August; the woman was fine, but my husband had a broken right hip socket. It still isn't finished healing, so he remains on "light duty" (lucky me). Still, he is walking on his own (for 3 weeks now) and able to drive, so we have seen marked improvements!
I had no idea that cats could enjoy an Advent Calendar. Wonders never cease! My son (and daughter) both enjoyed those calendars for years growing up but no longer show interest (sniff, sniff).
Alas, I am not on FB or I would advertise to the world (or at least my own particular part of said world) about your giveaway. Many thanks for your generosity - and I hope you and your family are able to enjoy Christmas and all it has to offer throughout the holiday season. Take care.
Hi Kate,
I hope that you'll soon be feeling much, much better.
One of our cats, Teyla, has an advent calendar which has her favourite treats in it.
Look after yourself.
Advent Calendars can be loads of fun.
Looking forward to your 12 Days of Christmas thank you.
hope you're on the med. nominated a friend over yonder.

I hope you feel better soon, a bad back is never fun but especially during the holidays when there always seems to be so many things that you want to do or need to be doing.
I’ve never had an advent calendar at home, but I remember when I was a kid, second grade, I think, our teacher had one filled with chocolates and it felt like the biggest treat when it was your day to open the little door and receive a small chocolate, it just made the school day a little sweeter.
I hope that your back has improved. have a wonderful and enjoyable holiday filled with love and happiness.
