If you live in the UK and are interested in writing any form of romantic fiction, then you should know about the Romantic Novelists' Association -
A great magazine
A great conference
Great meetings
Great advice in the New Writers' Scheme - the only one of its kind run by published authors for the unpublished. The fact that all 250 places on this are grabbed within about a month shows how wonderfully valuable it is.
And the RNA also has a great blog.
I'm not just saying that because the RNA blog currently has an interview with me on it - but well, it does - so if you want to have a read why not head over to the RNA Blog now and have a read.
And if you're not a member then take a look at the RNA's main site to see just what they offer to writers - published and unpublished. Maybe you'll think about joining. I don't know anyone who's sorry that they did.

This is just how I feel at the moment with a To Do list as long as my arm, one on which everything I cross something off, something new gets added. Add into that mix, a stomach bug that laid me low for two days, a computer key board that turned up its keys and died, just in the middle of something really important, a car that started making very peculiar noises just one quarter of the way home from a trip to Derby - a journey that then involved a major diversion because part of the motorway was closed for repairs . . .and you'll get some idea of the week I'm having.
But if you need something longer to read, then that's fine because last month I did a long interview with Gemma Noon over at The Literary Project which you can find here so there should be plenty to interest you there. Gemma used to be a librarian, as I did, and we share a belief in the fact that getting people reading is much more important than sneering at them for what they read - which for my money can only make them feel discouraged and unwilling to read at all.
So I found Gemma's introduction to this interview interesting - and I found myself nodding along with much of it. So I hope you'll read the interview too - and let me know if you enjoy it.
PS for Joanne - the interview should be in the paper on March 1st.

With the Minxes
I went to bed last night feeling rough and headachy and have woken (very late) today with a raging sore throat. So while I find some honey and hot lemon, you can find more to read today about me and my work over on The Minxes of Romance's Blog.
Thanks to all the minxes - several of whom I've met in person - for inviting me.
And thanks to Lorraine for reminding me that this was my week as I'd forgotten!

Publicity seeking . . .
I recently had an interview with the Hull Daily Mail, following on from the workshop I did in the Central Library in Hull.
As a result of that, I had to have some photos taken so on Tuesday Richard the Picture Editor came to do that. Not my favourite experience - point a camera at me and I usually freeze like a rabbit in the headlights. But this time I did get a photo I don't mind using as my publicity pic for the future. Will upload that onto my web site etc as soon as I get a moment.
But guess who had to get in on the act as well . . .
PS for Joanne - the interview should be in the paper on March 1st.
