The Q&A on Delivering Emotional Punch on the EHarlequin site ended to day - but the lessons, and the questions are still there if you want   to take a look.

Over at We Write Romance

It's the 15th of January  - can you believe it? It seems like only two minutes ago it was  New Year's Day and already January is half over.

Anyway,  the 15th of the month is my day for blogging over on We Write Romance in my regular Kate's Corner spot - so that's where you can find me today.

I'm talking about diaries and calendars - and as I've just found an extra calendar that I bought - one with lovely photographs of England on it - I'm offering this as a prize for someone who comments on my Kate's Corner blog - Charlie has been missing the chance to pick winners and have extra treats - so why not make him happy and give him lots of chances to enjoy himself!   (I know it's  a bit late for the start of January - but there are plenty more months left  for 2013!)

Advent Calendar Day 15

Today's the 15th December which means that it's the day I have my regular blog post over on We Write Romance where I have my usual Kate's Corner.

So that's where you'll find me today - and where you'll find the question for today's Advent Calendar giveaway.

Today's  book that I'm giving away is the 2009 title Kept for Her  Baby.

Wanted: wife and Mother...
Staring at the granite-handsome features of Italian billionaire Ricardo Emiliani, Lucy knows she's made a mistake coming back to their palatial Lake Garda home. But she'll do anything for her baby son—even return to the husband who never loved her...
Ricardo branded his wife a gold-digger, however, tiny Marco needs his mother so he will keep Lucy captive on his private island until she proves herself a worthy wife—in every sense...

To be in with a chance to win this book you need to go over the WWR and answer the question in the comments there. (If you have any problems, then just come back here and post an answer. I'll be checking both blogs anyway.)

Kate's Corner day

It's October 15th so that means that I'm blogging over on We Write Romance today in my regular Kate's Corner spot.

I'm not doing well in keeping up with my personal blog here but at least I am blogging in my regular 'guest spots' which is something! I keep hoping that at some point life will settle down a bit.

Well I can hope . . .

Good luck to everyone who has entered the So You Think You Can Write Contest - I'm looking forward to seeing the list of the final 28.

Missing again

My blog is getting neglected  - that's because I've been busy and been away again

I've only just got back from a trip to London where I was att the annual lunch for the Association of Mills and Boon authors  - I also had a great trip to the theatre - and  dinner with my sister.

Because it's the day for my regular Kate's Corner blog over on  We Write Romance,  there are more details over there.

Meanwhile, I've been busy appeasing  the cats for abandoning them, unpacking, washing . . reading for getting back to my desk tomorrow.

Kate's Corner day

It's the 15th of June so that means it's my day to blog over at We Write Romance in my regular Kate's Corner Blog.

I've posted it - and this blog  -  in a dash in and out  between the ferocious thunderstorms that are pounding this part of the UK  - and have stopped me working on the computer for most of the day.

But I'vemanaged to write a post and I'm asking for your help on this one - I've so many blogs to prepare for the next few months, and so many workshops/course/conferences  coming up that I have very little time to spare and very little inspiration as to what to blog about - so what would you like to see in my blogs here and elsewhere?
All ideas gratefully received!

Kate's Corner

I almost forgot!   It's the 15th of May  - so it's the day for my regular blog over on We Write Romance. but I was so excited to tell you all about Janet Laurence's new book Deadly Inheritance that I  very nearly forgot that I was meant to be blogging over  in Kate's Corner  today too.

So that's where  you'll find me talking about the  new Kindle I was given for my birthday and the books I've loaded it with and have been reading recently.

Luckily Deadly Inheritance is available on Kindle too  . . . but don't forget you can win yourself a print copy if you read Janet's  interview  below and  leave a comment about your favourite crime novel protagonist - this contest is open  till Friday.

We Write Romance

Today is the 15th of April so it's my day for blogging over at We Write Romance - I almost forgot . We were out celebrating our neighbours' birthdays so it was only when I got back jome that I realised it was the 15th and I needed to write a blog.

Anyway, over at Kate's Corner, I'm talking about the importance of names - for people - cats  - and  heroes and  heroines.

And of course with my lates book in mind, the names The Devil and Miss Jones were on my mind too.

In Memoriam

Today is the 15th of the month and as so many of you know, on the 15th I have my regular Kate's Corner post over on We Write Romance's blog.

But today is also the day before, sadly,  I travel to Lancashire to attend the  funeral of Penny Jordan.   Penny and her books have been so much a part of my life, so closely connected with my own career from the first day, right back in 1981 that I opened her  first books - Falcon's Prey and Tiger Man - and lost  myself in the world she could create - a world that took you away from  the problems and worries of the actual day and into a world of passion and excitement and great story-telling.

So what else could I do but dedicate my Kate's Corner post to Penny?

And tomorrow, when I come home, I'm going  to open Falcon's Prey,  Penny's very first book and  remind myself of how it all began - and I'll raise a glass to her memory too.

Perhaps you'd like to join me in that? Pick your own favourite Penny Jordan novel  and remember her that way.

Another stop on the blog tour - 5 Reasons to be Cheerful

I think this is . . .18? But really I've lost count!
Anyway, today I have another stop on the Blog Tour and a visit to one of my regular Guest Blog spots - over on We Write Romance where I'm at my  Kate's Corner slot for the 15th of the month.

Today I'm writing about 5 reasons to be cheerful - a post inspired by something I saw this morning that really made me smile.

And I'd love to know your reasons to smile too - so why not come along and tell me - and you can make Charlie the Maine Coon really cheerful as he gets to pick out the name of someone who posts as the winner of the giveaway at this stop.

See you there?

Blogging around again

It's been a busy week  - and that's an understatement. I  say this every time I finish a book and then rush round  trying to catch up on everything that didn't get done when I was finishing it/doing revisions. There's accounts, updating the web site (havn't completed that yet - or the accounts for that matter)

There are new events to agree to, organise - anyone in Nottingham in October? There's the New Writers' Festival on the 7th and 8th

And there's the prospect of this year's New Voices contest just around the corner too. There will be workshops for that too  . . . watch this space.

And I had  a special reason to celebrate this week that took me away from the keyboard  for a while. If you want to know what, then check out my Date with Kate blog over on the Pink Heart Society's blog where I'm talking about that special event  - and how as writers we need to think about this when we're making our characters fall in love.

And later today (ie when I think of something to blog about)  there's my Kate's Corner blog for We Write Romance.

But first I need to go into town for my hair appointment  so that I will look reasonably presentable for  my wonderful week in Caerleon at Writers' Holiday  from the  24th - maybe I'll see some of you there . . or on those other blogs.

Kate's Corner

Today is the 15th of June, and  so that means it's my day for blogging over on We Write Romance in Kate's Corner

Today I'm talking about the old and the new  - books and covers, that is, which gives me a chance to talk about that new sexy cover for The Return of The Stranger. And to look back at an old favourite with the republishing in ebook of Contantine's Revenge.  Both great covers.

And you can still give yourself a chance of winning a copy of The Proud Wife so that you can join in the Pink Heart Society  Book Club discussion on  June 30th. Just leave a comment on yesterday's post and you'll be in the draw.

Kate's Corner

It's May 15th so that means that it's my day to guest blog in Kate's Corner  over at We Write Romance. So that's where you'll find me today.

I've been thinking about the way that my birthday last week made me feel - and that made me thankful for all my wonderful friends and readers  who share my life through my books.

I've said it over there but I'm going to say it here as well - Thank you to everyone who buys and reads my books so that I can keep writing and hopefully keep sharing with you all!

And I hope you'll keep posting some thoughts of what you enjoy in my blog or what you'd like to read about in my blog so that I can put more names into the draw to win a copy of One Night in Madrid.

Thank you!

Blogging around

Thank you to everyone who came to my Royal Romance Nottingham workshop.  I had a great time and I hope you did too.

Special thanks need to go to Jane from the Central Library and the other members of her staff  whose warm welcome and  help made surethat everything ran smoothly and efficiently.
Thanks too to Jo Healey and her camerman  who made the filming for  East Midlands Today easier and less nerve wracking than I  had feared.  No idea yet when the piece will be aired, but Jo says she will let me know and I'll pass that on to anyone who might be able to see it.

And a special wave to Sally Quilford who is now officially one of my workshop 'stalkers'!

Today I'm busy blogging at other places

It's the third Friday of the month so that means it's time for A Date With Kate over on the Pink Heart Society

and it's also the 15th of  the month which is the date I write my post for Kate's Corner over on We Write Romance - just as soon as I  dust off the brain cell and find an idea of what to talk about.

Out and about

It's going to be a busy week  (is there any other sort?)   So I'm not sure how much  blogging I'll get to do.  But there will be blogs in other places even if I don't get to say much in  here.

So  - to give advance notice
1. I'm blogging at I Heart Presents on Monday- Obviously I'm talking about the release of The Proud Wife  - and about how I love writing reunion stories.
2.  Friday  will have two blogs -
One will be  Kate's Corner on We Write Romance
The other will be A Date With Kate at the Pink Heart Society
What will I be blogging about ?  Your guess is as good as mine - I need some good ideas!

Tomorrow I have to be up early because I have an interview on the Breakfast Show  on Radio Nottingham

Then on Wednesday I'm being interviewed  for  TV - Jo Healey from  East Midlands Today  will be coming here to talk to me and then she'll be attending the workshop in Nottingham Library  as well.  I'm not sure when this will be on the programme or if I can find a link so you can see it but if I can I will.

These last two are because of the Workshop at Nottingham Library  which is on Wednesday.  Just to remind you of the details -

Nottingham Library Royal Romance Workshop - led by Kate Walker

Kate's Corner

I'm a bit late with this - yesterday was a day of problems and I was hardly at my desk - plus I thought that the Authors for Japan auction was very important to broadcast.
So I forgot to say that as it was  March 15th, it was my day for my Kate's Corner blog over on We Write Romance.  But as I was late getting that organised too, it wouldn't have been much good telling you about it till it was up! The blog is up now so I can tell you that I'm over on We Write Romance, in Kate's Corner, talking about  how tough times make me appreciate why I write and read romance.
