Advent Calendar Giveaway Day 19

Just the book info and a question today .

When I get back from Frozen Yorkshire I will get Sid on the job of picking out a winner for Saturday (Spanish Billionaire, Innocent Wife) and Sunday.

And today's book is the latest 3 in 1 collection that my novels have been in - The Italian's Baby Bargain.

The book that's reprinted in here is The Italian's Forced Bride which has been a giveaway (back on Day 7 ) so Alicia who won then won't want to try for this.

But Alicia I don't have your postal address so your copy of the book is still sitting on my desk! Would all winners please make sure they let me know where to send your prize or you will miss out.
Anyway - The Italian's Forced Bride

"As long as I want you, you stay — and you only leave when I give you permission to go."
Alice Howard spent six passionate months as Domenico Parrisi's mistress. But she knew he would never love her back and would soon discard her — so she left him.

But now Domenico wants her back in his bed, and his terms of possession are the same as before—until he makes a discovery that changes everything: Alice is carrying his child.

Waldenbooks #1 bestseller
This book won Best Mills & Boon Modern Romance in Cata Romance's Reviewers' Choice Awards!

The other authors with books in this collection are: Trish Morey and Kim Lawrence

And today's question - let's look at books again (always a good subject)

When you buy your romances, what influences you most? Do you buy because of the author? The line? Which lines are your favourites that you buy from most often? Does the cover influence you? Or the title?
As always - post an answer in the comments section . And yes, you can post for both Saturday and Sunday until Sid The Cat has chosen. Which he will do on Monday

Hi Kate,

I always buy from the Harlequin Presents line, because it is my favourite and I can always count on my favourite authors to write wonderful stories. The author does influence me greatly in choosing books, sometimes the cover too. The title doesn't matter so much to me as long as the storyline is interesting. I have some authors I will always buy, and some that I stay away from even if one certain book of theirs looks good.

I also sometimes buy from the Desire line because it is similar to Presents. I usually stay away from linked books in that series though as I don't always buy them and may not know all the characters from previous books.

For me it's usually the author. (I do have my favourite's ;) ) But sometimes if it's an author I don't know then, I am a sucker for a great cover and title! Oh, and when I've bought the book - the one thing I look for and love to read are author dedications! Somehow it makes the book seem more real! Hope you get back safely from Yorkshire. Caroline x

Good question.

I always look in the paranormal section first as that is my fav genre.

I also look for fav authors to make sure I'm up to date with their books.

Then, I'll peruse covers and titles...a good mix of a great cover and a snazzy title will get me to pull the book off the shelf and have a better look at it.

I have certain authors who I prefer to others, but if the title of a book grabs me, I will read the back cover of the book to see if that grabs me too.
I like to try and broaden my horizons, (hopefully)!

It's a combination of things. Fav authors def and if I like the title and the description then I'll buy it.

Depends on my mood too. I mainly read Blaze and Modern, but like Nocturne too.

I often buy books that my fav authors recommend.

Wow, Sid really is going to have a lot to do on Monday (and a lot of treats!).

I do tend to go with Authors that I've enjoyed before, however if the blurb on the back makes me think it's my kind of story, then I'm likely to buy it, even if I don't know the author.

p.s. my book arrived safely the other day - thank you so much :D The cover is gorgeous, and I will read it soon.

Happy Sunday! :) Oh boy, well, first of all many of the authors I read are autobuy, whether it's single title or category.

After that, sometimes the cover helps me, mostly in Regencies, because if it's a book/author I didn't know of, and there's a guy with a cravat or breeches and an empire gown on the lady, it'll catch my attention. (here, also titles with well, titles helps too -- there might not have been that many dukes, marquis, or earls, but they sure help with books! LOL)

I do tend to gravitate towards the Presents/Romance/Regency of the Historical lines, so will read what the books are about...

Outside of all that, it comes to the blurb, and if it catches my attention, whether I get it or not. :)

I usually choose a book because the blurb on the back or an excerpt interests me. A title sometimes influences me to pick up a book and read the back. I don't pay much attention to covers.

Hi Kate,

I usually read the blurb and check the authors. If the blurb is interesting then I buy the book.

Don't enter my name in this draw as I've already won this book and really enjoyed reading it.

I have some authors whose books I always try to buy. Then the picture on the cover catches my eye first.
then I will read the blurb and maybe if there is a Dear Reader letter, I'll read that. I try not to buy mini-series too often as I hate it if I can't manage to get all the books in the series.

The plot and the most important. If the blurb draws me in, I will buy the book.

I look for themes I suppose. Christmas settings, Scottish locations, royal romances are my favourites. I also prefer books where there's more romance than lust.

Kate,
Since myfavorite line is HP, I look at those titles first. Books written by my auto-buy authors are bought without thought. There are other authors whose books I look it and determine if I want to buy based on plot. Then there are books that were recommended by someone -- even if written by an author whose books I don't normally buy.

I try to ignore the tiles -- because quite frankly I really don't care for them too much. LOL I much preferred the titles from the 70s and 80s.

Sometimes I buy books from some of the other lines -- because the back copy makes them sound intriguing ot because of recommendations.

Sometimes for the writer and mostly for the storyline blurb. If it grabs me, I'm gone. And I have to buy the book!

Before I started blogging last year, I just read the back covers, based on the lines (Blazes, Presents, Intrigues, etc. - mostly Harlequins). Since then, though, I now have another list - I have lists for everything apparently....

I now watch for certain authors and their certain books, which I have learned about from their blogs and web sites. There are so many books out there that I am much more discriminate now. The covers and titles don't mean much to me, as I know the authors don't have a lot of say in them. Besides, sometimes the covers don't "match" the scene from the book (which really doesn't matter to me anyway, because the picture in my mind doesn't necessarily agree with the words or the picture either).

I don't know why it said Anonymous above (started with "Before I started blogging last year, I just....", but it is me, Laney4.

If I am at a book store, the cover of a book often catches my eye and I buy it. When on the net I usually visit authors I am familiar with and check to see what they have new. I have signed up for emails from a number of sites that list books and list excerpts or reviews. I read constantly, having a book started at all times. Reading a book while riding our stationary bicycle surely helps the time to pass. I am always happy if a book contains humor and will seek additional books from an author that makes me laugh.

I tend to buy mostly for the author, all-time favorites, like Sid's friend :)) or new ones.

Happy Christmas!

I like to go by recommendations, but I have favourite authors I follow, too. I'm really enjoying the new cherish line, along with moderns. Milly
